"I Don't Know"

I'm still alive!! :)

Sorry, Y'all....I have been M.I.A. lately due to my intense stress with all these NEW changes in my life! New grade, new school, new district, and first time departmentalized! All these changes have caused craziness! Luckily, I am enjoying myself amongst all the chaos that is my life.  :D

Today was better than yesterday and I know that tomorrow will be better than today. :) Just keeps getting better and better! AND I love it so far.

On another note.....*I also feel like I put too much pressure on myself and that I try a little "too hard" and try to do "too much" sometimes.... Does anyone else feel like that? Like I could be fine if I didn't try to do EVERYTHING that pops into my head? Or am I just a constant headcase because I can't handle the craziness and everyone else can? uggghhh!*
Anyone?....Anyone?....Anyone?? (Ferris Bueller)

Anywhooooo...While I am here......I have something else that I'd like to share!

 A Back 2 School Freebie! :)

On our 2nd grade team, we have an "idea" that we are encouraging in our classrooms. We are discouraging students from quickly and effortlessly responding to our questions with "I don't know". You know those students who just want to avoid the situation and slip out of your radar range. This is great. Particularly for those students, but also for all students.

I created this poster as a reference for the students in my classroom! It gives students other ways to respond when they may be lost on the question.

This is a great idea to use for encouraging students to think harder when they feel like they don't know the answer to a question rather than just giving up and trying to avoid the situation.

I have mine laminated and posted right next to my whole group area for easy reference!

Feel free to jump on over to my TpT store to grab it! :)

I hope y'all are having a wonderful beginning of the year!!!

  3. Nice one. As an adult (by a loose definition of the word), I use the 'More information' one all the time ... it's called Googling it.

Still, one word of caution, if your answer to the other ways of responding is always 'no' or 'it wouldn't be fair' or something of that ilk, then yeh, "I don't know" is going to return with a vegance.
