Confession of a Pinaholic!

WOO HOOO I'm back! :) :) I actually have a new post for y'all!!  I actually have a little confession......Unfortunately.... I am addicted to Pinterest. UGH, I am so ashamed! (or am i?) I mean seriously... who isn't addicted to pinterest?? Well, I can honestly say that I am not one of those people who just pins things that I like and never look at them again. I am actually completing a lot of my crafts and cooking the food recipes! Most of my attempts have turned out well with only the occasional.."what was I thinkin??"

I actually finished a craft for my classroom today..which I am going to share!!

This straw dispenser turned into a pencil dispenser for my classroom!! I used mod podge and scrapbook paper to match my blue and purple theme! This was NOT the easiest craft and took a lot of time and dedication, but I'm happy with how it turned out! Most people have asked where I got the dispenser from....I actually ordered it off of amazon...I'm not sure if you can find it at an actual store...

Before
 TAH DAH!
 After
I think it's going to be perfect for my kiddos! Last year I had a lot of kids going to get a sharpened pencil, but they spend too much time searching through them trying to find the "perfect pencil". This way, I will make sure that all the pencils in the dispenser are sharpened and they are only allowed to turn the nob once to get one pencil out. Other than that... I just think its super cute! :)

Well... there y'all go... a new post FINALLY! It was seriously way too long. I do have some things on my To Do List that I will be posting soon! AND some freebies too!

SEE you SOON! Promise! :)

  1. That is so cute! I have the same problem of the kids searching for just the right pencil. Isn't funny how some kids like the teeny tiny ones, some a nice new one and others, ones that have lost the eraser and is sharpened on both ends! lol

I have one of these but can't get the pencils to come out smoothly. It takes quite some muscle..and I don't think a first grader can do it. Does your's work well?
Did you have to do any adjustments to the knob?

  5. Mine actually works fine! It is very easy to turn. I was worried about that after I mod podged it, but I didn't have an issue with it.
