Today I was spending some time in my craft corner. :) I had picked up a 50 pack of clothespins from the dollar store to use in my classroom for hanging things on my bulletin boards, student work in the hallway, etc. I decided to jazz up the clothespins with some of my scrapbook paper. It is really a very simple craft and it seems like a very minimal decoration, but I think it will really add "a little sumpin' sumpin'" to my classroom. :) I just used the clothespins, one sheet of scrapbook paper, mod podge, and craft knife.
First, I placed the clothespin on the scrapbook paper. I cut around the end to get a perfect fit.
Then I used mod podge to glue to scrapbook paper to the clothespin.
Finally, I layered on another coat of mod podge on top of the scrapbook paper to seal it.
Here is a before and after shot. Now, tell me you can't say that those will add a little sumpin' sumpin' to my bulletin boards ;-) hehe...
I only covered about 28 clothespins with the black pattern. It barely used up a 1/4th of the one 12X12 piece of scrapbook paper. I'm thinking of covering the rest with a purple or blue...since those are my classroom theme colors for next year.
You should really try it!!
So simple, but OH SO CUTE!!!! Love!!!
ReplyDeleteI did this but painted the clothespins-- a background color then polka dots...i love polka dots! Hot glued tacks on the back to hang on the bulletin board. (Got the idea on Pinterest, of course.) For me, paint was easier.
ReplyDeleteLove it!!
