Reading Responses!!

I love love love reading response activities! For some reason I have been obsessed with them lately! I have wanted my students to think more about the stories they were reading during read to self.  Sooooo, I decided to create some of my own! I created some response sheets that could fit into reading journals and were focused on certain aspects which I was wanting my students to specifically focus on. These response activities are incorporated into my class' workstation rotations. We have a "reflections" station where students spend time reflecting in their reading journals on books they have been reading from their book bag.  They have a menu from which they choose which response they'd like to use. I also use most of these in my small reading groups as well.

I made most of them half sheets so that they can be glued or taped into reading journals. I have also made some letter size as well. This packet includes activities that focus on characters, important ideas, connections, predicting, BME, main idea, visualizing, etc.
Some of them are also spinners and foldables that need to be copied double-sided.  I like making things a little bit more interesting for the kiddos. :)

Here are some examples. :)

Here are some pictures of my students' work!
The Thick Questions bookmark was used as a bookmark or as a reference glued into their journal.
