Sneaky 'e'! 200 Followers Freebie!!

Ok y'all...I've got 200 followers! WOOHOO! Therefore, time to celebrate with a freeeebieee!

So, I'm sitting on the couch at our beach house in Gulf Shores, Alabama creating a special freebie for y'all! DON'T worry-It's raining outside, so I'm not wasting wonderful beach time and sun. :) It's nothing too extreme, but wanted to share it with y'all!

Basically, I love teaching the silent 'e'. I have so much fun with this little story that I made up this past year. I call the silent 'e'....Sneaky 'e'. I tell a story to the students and REALLY play up this sneaky character when I first start the lesson. It is great for getting their attention and getting them excited. They realllllly love the story and have such a great time practicing their Sneaky 'e's afterwards!

Here is my story!

I want to tell you a story! This story is about a little trouble maker! His name is Sneaky ‘e’. Sneaky ‘e’ likes to pinch. He likes to especially pinch his vowel friends in the middle of words! Can you believe that? He’s not very nice. When he pinches them, it makes the vowel scream its name! I would scream if I was pinched too! (Then I give an example. If it was an ‘a’, then I would scream the long ‘a’ sound like I was pinched, to show the kids.) Then after he pinches them, he sits REALLY quiet because he doesn’t want to get caught and get into trouble! So, he tries to hide. That’s why you don’t hear him sometimes! So, you have to be really careful because he is sneaky.  But you know what? I think y'all are good detectives and can find him even if he is a good hider.  If you see an ‘e’ on the end of a word, you should check to see if he is the Sneaky 'e' and if he has pinched his vowel friend in the middle! We always have to watch out for Sneaky ‘e’. Let's have some practice finding this trouble maker!

THEN, I was on the wonderful world of Pinterest and found this great pin! I thought this would be a great asset to my story and would make practicing MUCH more fun!
Here is the wonderful link to Mrs. Wheeler's blog from where I got the idea! Thanks girl!!

So, I created a little 4 page packet that has multiple Sneaky 'e's that can be cut and glued as wand toppers for whole group practice, small group, stations, or individual practice. I also added smaller versions in case you wanted to use those at stations or individually. :) Nothing grandiose but I think cute and the kids will love it!
I also included my Sneaky 'e' story on there so you can print it out and keep in your files. :)

Feel free to sneak on over to my TpT store to steal this freebie! :) :)

If you post my story anywhere else, please give credit. :)

Have a wonderful last bit of your summer break! I know I will! :D

  1. Very cute! I love to tell stories too! =)

We call him magic e and he sneaks in our room. He leaves his magic dust all over the room (glitter)...and on the vowels of course.
